Beacon Falls Democratic Party Launches Web Site
On-line Resource for Voters; Campaign Information and Issues

Beacon Falls, CT - September 24, 2009 – The Democratic Party of Beacon Falls has launched its web site (http://www.dems.info/BeaconFalls/) it was announced today by Kathy Grace, Democratic Town Chairman.

The site is intended to provide general information and news to the voters of Beacon Falls. In addition, the web site provides information on the Democratic Platform, the slate of Democrats running in the upcoming election, Campaign News and Events, Campaign Notes, and a message from the First Selectman, Susan Cable.

“This web site is a resource for voters researching party platforms and issues in the upcoming election,” said Kathy. “The objective is to provide information and support for voters on-line. Typically people look on-line and read the papers for information before they make decisions; our goal is to create a positive and informative experience to aid in the decision process.”

The Beacon Falls Democratic Town Committee (DTC) is a strong and growing party. We invite democrats to get involved with the party and the upcoming election; all voters are encouraged to get involved. The DTC meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at Town Hall at 7PM.

The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, open, honest and accountable government, and securing our nation while protecting our civil rights and liberties. Please contact Kathy Grace, Democratic Town Chairman at 203-729-9858 for more information.

Susan Cable Announces Candidacy for Re-election

Dear Residents of Beacon Falls,

It is with great enthusiasm that I officially announced my candidacy for re-election as your First Selectman. I am proud to see Beacon Falls moving forward in these hard economic times. During my tenure we have met and exceeded many health, education, recreation, business and finance goals and objectives including:

  • Support of building Woodland High School in Beacon Falls.
  • Facilitating the first medical practice in Beacon Falls.
  • Bringing sewer and water lines to many critical areas in town.
  • Attracting and creating a successful business climate resulting in many new businesses to Pinesbridge Commerce Park.
  • Leading the effort to bring access to the Naugatuck River; the “first” in the Valley.
  • Working tirelessly with state and federal agencies to bring the Depot Street Bridge project to bid.

By utilizing state and federal grant monies we have substantially lowered the costs for these projects; evident in the lowering of our mil rate for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. We have much more to accomplish, including:

  • Supporting and monitoring the creation of a 45-acre Multi-use Water Recreation Area on the Naugatuck River — another “first” for Beacon Falls.
  • Continuing the Volunteer Park Walkway initiatives further down the river.
  • Utilizing the recently purchased Wolfe Avenue property for the benefit of all Beacon Falls residents.

Join the Team United and vote for me on November 3, 2009. Let's continue on with the progress in Beacon Falls together as a team united.

Sincerely,

Susan Cable
